FAQS

Do you handle the decor and setup?

Yes! Lynette, our Creative Director, designs and manages all ceremony décor. Our approach is intentionally simple and beautiful—allowing the space, the moment, and your connection to shine without excess.

What happens if it rains?

Rain is often considered good luck—and it can make your ceremony even more cinematic. If conditions are safe, we move forward as planned and provide clear umbrellas for comfort and beautiful photos. In cases of severe weather, we’ll work with you to reschedule or relocate when possible.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend booking as soon as you’ve chosen your date, especially during peak seasons. Wisconsin marriage licenses can be obtained up to 60 days in advance and include a 5-day waiting period, so planning a few weeks ahead is ideal.

That said, if you’ve already obtained your marriage license, we can accommodate bookings as soon as five days out. While we generally recommend booking at least two weeks in advance so we can give your ceremony the care and intention it deserves, we also understand that love doesn’t always follow a schedule.

Can we choose our own vendors?

We work with trusted local vendors and offer curated add-ons for florals, cake, and other details to keep things seamless. If you have a specific request, we’re happy to chat and see what’s possible.

Are you also our photographer?

Yes—photography is available as an add-on and is handled by Lynette Yahn, owner of Lynette Yahn Photography. Our photo packages are designed to document the most meaningful moments without turning your day into a photoshoot.

Can we bring our own photographer

Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own photographer if that feels like the right fit for you. Lynette will still be on-site, discreetly and out of the way, capturing content for Madison Vow Co. This allows us to document our work and continue sharing inspiration, while ensuring your chosen photographer remains the primary focus for your wedding day coverage.

Who counts as a guest?

Anyone in attendance besides the couple is considered a guest. This includes family members, friends, children, and members of a bridal party if applicable. Children under the age of 2 are not counted toward the guest total.

How many guests can we have?

Elopements are intentionally intimate. Guest counts depend on the location, but typically range from just the two of you up to a small group of close family or friends. We’ll guide you toward what works best.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule?

We require 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. One reschedule is permitted based on availability, and weather-related reschedules are handled with care and flexibility. Full details are outlined in our cancellation policy.

Can I choose my own Location?

Yes! You’re welcome to choose a location that’s meaningful to you. Custom locations include a $250 location upcharge, plus travel mileage and any required permits or reservation fees. We’re happy to help guide you through what’s needed to keep things simple and stress-free.

What should we wear?

Whatever makes you feel like you. This is your wedding day—there’s no right or wrong. Want to splurge on a suit or dress you’ve always dreamed of? Amazing. Prefer a $25 dress from the mall or something already in your closet? Equally perfect. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, confident, and present.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes—absolutely. We work with each couple to choose a ceremony that reflects their story, and personalized vows can be seamlessly added upon request. Whether you want something heartfelt, lighthearted, or somewhere in between, we’ll help create a ceremony that feels true to you.
